The Edinburg Professional FireFighters Association represents its members before Fire Administration, the City Manager’s Office, the Mayor and City Council, as well as at the State Legislature and before Congressional Representatives and Senators.

Our affiliation with the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) gives us input at the national level.

As a unified organization of firefighters we can exert greater influence on our political representatives and afford greater protection for our members.

Members have the assurance of knowing that they will be assisted with grievances, disciplinary appeals and worker’s compensation problems. Trained officers are available to accompany members to hearings, assist in the preparation of appeal letters and prepare cases. Legal counsel is provided in more complex cases.

Over the years the Edinburg Professional FireFighters Association has achieved a number of benefits for its members. Many of the benefits we all enjoy today are the result of the Association's efforts. These include:

  • Pay Raises

  • Temporary assignment pay

  • Education Pay

  • Longevity pay

  • 3 person minimum staffing

The objective of the Edinburg Professional FireFighters Association shall be: The fostering and encouragement of a higher degree of skill and efficiency, the cultivation of friendship among its members, the elevation and improvement of the morale, intellectual, social and economic conditions of its members.
